Challenge: Extreme desert-like conditions with high wind

Desert conditions and high winds that pervade this particular area of Kern County can form sand dunes, dust devils, and extreme temperatures that have the potential to impact the operations of the solar plant.

Solution: Engineered simplicity which intrinsically increases reliability and performance under any conditions

Array Technologies’ DuraTrack® HZ v3 single-axis tracker is designed to withstand temperatures of -30°F to 140°F (-34°C to 60°C), and the system’s engineered simplicity minimizes failure points. This intrinsically increases reliability and performance under any conditions – even in the desert-like setting found at the Garland facility. “ATI’s proven experience in harsh conditions is supporting our global growth, especially in regions home to desert environments such as the Middle East and North Africa, and parts of Latin America” said Ron Corio, Array Technologies founder and CEO.
