13 MW DuraTrack HZ Tracking System Operational in Texas
System is final part of three phase CPS Energy initiative
Albuquerque, NM – 5/30/12 – Somerset, TX is about to get a little greener as Array Technologies announced the completion of a 13 MW solar site for CPS Energy today. Developed by SunEdison and built by Okland Construction, the site is the last phase of the utility’s 30 MW solar initiative.
By choosing Array Technologies’ DuraTrack HZ™ tracking system, CPS and SunEdison will receive a maximum return on investment—as the trackers generate up to 25% more energy than conventional fixed-rack applications. The flexibility of the articulating drivelines in maximizing PV coverage, like its ability to be easily installed on undulating terrain or within irregular site boundaries, was critical in the selection of the DuraTrack HZ™ system for this project.
The energy generated by the site will be sold to CPS Energy under a power-purchasing agreement for the 25 year lifetime of the project.
