4.2 MW Tracking System Now Online in Gridley, CA

DuraTrack™ HZ system will power the City of Gridley and BART

Albuquerque, NM – 9/13/12 – A 4.2 MWdc solar installation is now generating clean power thanks to Array Technologies’ DuraTrack™ HZ tracker, located in the small town of Gridley, CA. Constructed by Blue Oak Energy, the electricity generated will be utilized by the City of Gridley and the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), both members of the Northern California Power Agency (NCPA), under a power purchase agreement.

The worldwide leader in solar tracking, with more MWs installed than any other tracker, the DuraTrack™ HZ system was chosen for its field-tested dependability and reliable performance as well as its ability to maximize the return on initial investment. Using flexible articulating drivelines with a rotating gear drive system, the DuraTrack™ HZ tracker helps minimize material costs while ensuring robust performance with minimal annual maintenance required.

This DuraTrack™ HZ project is located at the base of Sutter Buttes, a small geological feature of eroded lava domes that is often referred to as the world’s smallest mountain range.
