Array Technologies Activates 20 MWs in Arizona
Bagdad, Ajo solar sites increase APS renewable energy profile
Albuquerque, NM – 11/13/11 – Array Technologies has announced the activation of a 4.5 MW installation in Ajo, AZ. and a 15 MW system in Bagdad, AZ., delivering clean solar energy to customers across the state. Constructed by EPC Recurrent Energy and purchased by Duke Energy Systems, the electricity generated onsite will be sold to Arizona Public Service (APS) under a 25-year power-purchasing agreement.
The DuraTrack HZ™ system provides APS with the best return on its initial investment, maximizing land coverage while reducing installation costs and generating up to 25% more energy than conventional fixed-rack applications. The articulating driveline design also ensures flexibility and ease of installation on all types of terrain.
Under Arizona’s renewable portfolio standard, utilities in the state must generate 15% of their energy through renewable sources by 2025, and Array Technologies’ tracking systems will help APS meet that goal.
